In 2017, the Centro de Estudios e Investigación para la Gestion de Riesgos Agrarios y Medioambientales (CEIGRAM) has celebrated ten years in an increasingly changing economic, environmental, productive and social environment, in which the knowledge and application of science and technology in agriculture risk management plays an increasingly important role.
A team of 40 senior researchers and 20 training researchers in training participate in the CEIGRAM and is integrated into the UPM’s Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Agronómica y de Biosistemas. Among its main achievements, the center has more than 60 published theses, 350 articles in impact publications and more than 200 national and international research projects.
There are many contributions of CEIGRAM on climate change and agriculture, sustainable use of resources, insurance and risk management and food security, always with a national and international vocation.
Our institution has much to contribute in the improvement of production systems and in the agricultural and environmental risks management, so we hope to continue working on useful projects and studies for sustainable agricultural development.
