Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) participates in the H-2020 SURE-Farm, Towards Sustainable and Resilient European Farming Systems Project, whose main goal is to analize and improve the resilience and sustainability of the European Union agriculture. UPM and 15 more universities from 14 European countries will work on the development of a framework that will facilitateto measure and improve the present and future resilience of the European agricultural system, specify strategies for risk management and recommend improvements in the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) . The project began in June 2017 with a deadline of four years.
The task force of the UPM in SURE-Farm is formed by a CEIGRAM’s group of professors and researchers and coordinated by Professor Alberto Garrido, who has an important role in the management of agrarian risks research and leads the communication and dissemination of results work.
One of its main contributions is the implementation of a co-creation platform. This platform will allow the different stakeholders involved in the project to participate actively and throughout the project in the risk management tools design, the policy improvements and the definition of roadmaps for its implementation.
