The Center for Global Trade Analysis, housed in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Purdue University, is the home of the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP), a global network of researchers and policy makers conducting quantitative analysis of international policy issues. The data team member will contribute to the maintenance, development and documentation of the GTAP Data Base and related data and software products through direct contribution and collaboration with external contributors; maintain an active research agenda in an area of interest to the Center; and participate in GTAP outreach activities including communication with stakeholders and other experts and teaching in the GTAP short courses.
Master’s degree in economics, agricultural economics, operations research, industrial engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
Three years of economic research experience, with an emphasis on economic modeling.
Experience should cover one or more of the following economic domains: input-output economics, energy economics, and/or the economics of trade and protection.
Some experience dealing with large data sets and constrained optimization or equivalent.
Anticipated start date: May 1, 2016
