On February 26 th, Jaime Haddad (Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment) opened a conference on the future of agricultural insurance system in 2025, which were discussed through workshops, aspects such as role of the various players in the system, insurance coverage, financing or encouraging their implementation.
In his speech, the Secretary stressed the importance of the current Agricultural Insurance System as an essential tool to ensure the income of agricultural, livestock, forestry and aquaculture farms.
For Haddad, thanks to the efforts and collective commitment, the system continues in full force and highlighted the importance of dialogue with tools such as working groups, regulation, territorial groups and the General Committee.
As pointed out, this debate has been necessary and remains so today for the system to continue, but always adapting to changing conditions. Thanks to him, have been adapted and updated the various lines of insurance and the various mechanisms that make it possible.
On the other hand, Jaime Haddad considered necessary to reflect on the future of insurance from the analysis of the conditions in 2025, with contributions from the different actors in the system.
For Haddad, it comes to the concerns of the different actors that make up the system, to establish future lines of work and defend them internationally. “Area in which our system continues to attract maximum attention.”
